Reaffirming SRC’s Constitutional Mandate Through Strategic Dialogue

A deep dive into constitutional stewardship unfolded today at SRC offices as Dr. Kamotho Waiganjo facilitated a thought-provoking seminar on the foundations and mandate of Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices (CCIOs). Drawing from his experience as one of the architects of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, Dr. Waiganjo unpacked the spirit and intent of Chapter 15 of the Constitution, with a sharp focus on Article 230, the cornerstone of SRC’s mandate of promoting fairness and fiscal sustainability in public service remuneration. The session brought together the Commission’s leadership, including Dr. Gilda Odera, Vice Chairperson, Commissioners Wangui Muchiri, Jane Njage, and Mohamed Aden, alongside Ali Abdullahi Surraw, Commision Secretary/CEO, reinforcing a shared commitment to uphold constitutional principles in SRC’s work.
