The department undertakes the following functions:

  • Developing and implementing the Corporate Communications Strategy, Policy and annual work plans.
  • Developing and promoting the implementation of SRC Brand and Style Guidelines and visual identity.
  • Developing and implementing the Stakeholder Management and Mapping Strategy, as well as the Stakeholder Management Policy.
  • Establishing, building trust and confidence, and promoting close relations with stakeholders.
  • Raising the visibility and awareness of SRC by ensuring services reach all stakeholders.
  • Developing, producing and distributing information, education and communications materials, including newsletters and bulletins, as well as promotional materials.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of the website and intranet.
  • Promoting close relations with the mass media for increased positive coverage and visibility.
  • Undertaking awareness, sensitisation and image building activities and initiatives.
  • Setting up and engaging on key social media platforms to drive SRC’s narrative.
  • Ensuring regular media and social media monitoring.
  • Audio-visual coverage, and producing videos and photographs for maximum visual impact.
  • Conducting trainings on media and other communications agenda.
  • Drafting, editing articles/stories and opinion pieces for media, publications, website, reports.
  • Organising events, conferences, exhibitions and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
