The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) in collaboration with Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and Lenana School undertook a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity on 29 May 2021. The CSR activity on tree growing was held at Lenana School.

The event began with speeches from SRC and KFS, where the emphasis was on the importance of planting and nurturing trees and taking care of the environment. Participants then proceeded to the tree planting venue of Lenana School where they were guided on how to plant the trees. The ground was already prepared, including the planting holes. Seedlings, which included lemons and avocados, were also available at the venue.

The tree planting session began with the SRC representative, Anthony Mwangi, planting a tree, followed by the KFS representative and patron of Lenana School’s Environment Club. Other SRC and KFS staff, and Lenana School students then proceeded to plant trees. In total 1,000 seedlings were planted, which Lenana School will nurture.

The school thanked the Commission and KFS for the noble initiative, specifically for choosing Lenana School as the target.
