Kenya Public Expenditure Review Mission

The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) held a meeting with a team from the World Bank on a mission to review the Kenya public expenditure. The meeting, held on 30 January 2020 at the SRC offices, discussed the prevailing public service allowances and the implementation of the National Wage Bill Conference Resolutions.

Further, the SRC’s presentation focused on its mandate, principles of pay determination, composition of the wage bill, pension expenditure trends, trends in the public sector wage bill, the National Wage Bill Conference and its Resolutions, the SRC Strategic Plan, among others.

The meeting also delved into the role of the SRC in advising on the hardship areas in Kenya for the purposes of payment of hardship allowances, as well as on how SRC handles non-compliance of its advisories. The SRC and World Bank teams agreed to continue promoting closer collaboration with each other.
